Koramangala 4th Block Residents’ Welfare Association has celebrated 60th Kannada Rajyotsava Day, on Nov 1 at Rectangle Playground, with a invocation song by Savita Prakash. G M Shetty, President of the association, while welcoming the chief guest M Chandrappa, Corporator of Ward No. 151, Koramangala and the residents, has spoken about how Mysore State has become Karnataka State.
K S Shankar Rao, committee member, has spoken about reorganization of states and how the areas which were in other states integrated into Mysore state with effect from 1-Nov-1956 and thereafter, as Karnataka State from 1-Nov-1973, when Late Devaraj Urs was the Chief Minister. He also spoke about unity of people irrespective of caste, creed, religion etc. and also spoke about learning Kannada language by non-Kannadigas.
M Chandrappa, Corporator, hoisted the Karnataka flag and later G M. Shetty, President, distributed the certificates and prizes to the winners of various sports events held on 31-Oct-2015. The function concluded with Kannada Rajyotsava song followed by distribution of sweets.
