S T Bed residents on 4th cross were relieved to see when the officials came promptly to attend to the problem of water contamination after Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy instructed the officials in the presence of President Rajendra Babu and Secretary Prakash Reddy and S T Bed residents.
Paramesh AEE (WWM) was intelligent enough to find out almost immediately, the spot where sewage was mixing into Cauvery water line. He ordered his men along with Naveen and. Ramesh of BWSSB to replace the values and adjoining pipes and gaskets where dirty water was getting sucked into the Cauvery water line. Cauvery water line valve was submerged into dirty water, the pipeline valve pit should always be dry.
Road side drain where dirty stinking water is always stagnant for lack of gradient, is a constant feeder of dirty water to the adjoining pipelines pit.
RWA along with residents requested BWSSB officials to thoroughly check all the water pipeline valves in S T Bed to ensure safe and clean drinking water. BWSSB has been slow to start the repair work as none of the pipelines pit have been repaired so far during the week.
Drains adjoining the houses should be desilted and BBMP should ensure that dirty water does not stagnate in the drains, otherwise the water contamination issue cannot be resolved.
Residents and RWA are thankful to MLA and Minister Ramalinga Reddy, BWSSB officials and City Kemp for helping to find a solution to the serious water contamination problem, which is a perennial problem to S T Bed residents.
