Minster Ramalinga Reddy along with Corporator M Chandrappa, Councillor Ashok Reddy, RWA representatives, residents and BBMP/BWSSB offcials initiated pooja for the commencement of works to make the 6th Cross Road as a Model Road, on Monday near Koramangala Club.
Rs 1.96 cr would be utilised for development of this road

On 2nd July 2017, Transport Minster Ramalinga Reddy visited 6th block Koramangala to finalize the plans for Club Road construction. Subsequently, a pooja was done for the same on 3rd July to commence the works. The 6th RWA has initiated this work along with Ms. Radha (Urban Planning Team member) described the basis for giving a draft plan to BBMP. She spoke about the basic guidelines followed as in the need to maintain the carriageway for the smooth flow of traffic, pedestrian walkways, and vehicular parking space. All this were considered and a plan has been given to Santosh Srinivas.(Contractor of 6th cross Club Road)
6th Block RWA Managing Committee has requested Ramalinga Reddy to make note of the following
All utilities affected by the road renovation (BWSSB, BESCOM, Street Lights, Cable operators etc) need to be given notice regarding the works and Santosh to ensure that no damages are causes by the renovation team.
All property owners to be notified about concreting of the roads and relaying of the footpaths. Any pending works by any owner on the Club Road (6th Cross) from 17th Main (100ft road) to 18th Main need to be completed by during the renovation period. Once all works are done, there should be no or minimal damage to the footpath and the road.
During the meeting, a few of the following issues were raised
The milk booth on 17th G main is still not functional in spite of all clearances given. Minister instructed M Chandrappa, Corporator to look into this and make the milk booth function.
The Laxmi Devi Playground was reduced by 5-6ft to ensure that the players get space to park their bikes. It is noticed that a lot of street vendors are occupying that space and causing traffic jams on the road during the evening. Minister assured that a few trees will be planted to reduce this menace.
Minster instructed to Corporator, Assistant Executive Engineer and Assistant Engineer regarding the 17th D Main road street vendor causing nuisance to the public and directed them to remove all street vendors on 6th Cross.
Koramangala 6th Block RWA President Jayaramu brought to the notice of the Minster about Rain Water Harvesting which is still not done in Lakshmi Devi Playground and also sought for a decent name board for it.
“A lot of research effort has gone into designing the layout of the road and footpath to ensure all stakeholders get fair share of its usage,” Jayaramu, 6th block President said. He requested all commercial establishments and residents to cooperate and ensure 6th cross becomes a model road in our neighbourhood. Meanwhile, 6th Block RWA Secretary Suresh N Gowda has sought cooperation from the residents so that the project be completed without any hurdles.
