Srinivasa, Radha Kulkarni honoured

Kannada Kriya Samithi has (BMTC 15 Depot) honoured on Kannada Rajyotsava Day, 1st November 2016, to Sreenivas VT and Radhakulkarni, both residents of Koramangala 6th Block, for their services towards Kannada.
V T Sreenivasa was one of the founder member of Kannada Sangha (Singapore) he was also a President of Kannada Sangha for last 10 years. He conducted multiple Kannada Samskruthi Sammelana in various parts of the world.
Mrs Radhakulkarni: A teacher, author, poet, dramatist and a social activist, all rolled into one is Radha Kulkarni.
She is a grand daughter of well known Kannada writer of Late Huilgol Narayana Rao got Doctorate from one of the American University. She has authored number of Kannada books for Children.
She is an accomplished teacher who has served in the field of education for over four decades and has got national awards many times.
Radha has authored many books. Two books are collection of one-act plays for children and another three books on poems for children. One on Huilgol Narayanarao and another on Vatsala Page, she has written.
She has authored a book “Path paved as a teacher” where she has documented her experiences in a very elucid way. Radha has dealt in detail about creative ideas that teachers can use in their classrooms to make teaching exciting.
Topics include teacher’s role in morning assembly, activity based teaching, mapping the map work, correlation method of teaching science in elementary schools, play while you work; work while you play, etc. Impressive concepts like ‘Mapping the map work’ where she has provided useful tips on how to use maps effectively.
Born on February 2, 1940 in Gadag, Radha has done masters in literature, B Ed and Praveen (Hindi). Also Intermediate Grade (Art).
Coming to her profession as a teacher, initially she worked for four years at VDS School Gadag. After that she was with Kendriya Vidyalaya since 1967 till 2002 with Mumbai IIT, Bangalore DRDO and ASC branches.
She has won number of national awards and other meritorious awards. To mention a few are: National award for teaching in 1998, national award
by Indian Council for Child Education and national award by NCERT three times.
Besides she has choreographed and presented number of dances. Be it a group dance or folk dance or a field dance. Also she has written and directed Radio plays which have been broadcasted on AIR.
On her social activity front, she has trained blind children in music, mono-acting, quiz, debate and recitation of slokas. Also she has held summer camp for poor children in Koramangala.
