On May 17, the team of Storm Water Drain Engineers of BBMP viz. Executive Engineer, Assistant Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Koramangala Ward Assistant Engineer, along with Corporator M Chandrappa, have visited 4th Block Koramangala and inspected the areas where the storm water from the main drain overflowed on 6-May-2016 due to heavy rain.
G M Shetty, President of the Koramangala 4th Block Residents’ Welfare Association, has explained and shown the affected areas and requested them to desilt immediately the excavated muck which is dumped by the contractor all along the drain at the centre, on account of which, the drain water reverse flowed and flooded the entire area. He has also requested them to remove all the obstructions in the main drain so that there will be smooth and easy flow of water in the drain. Further, G M Shetty has suggested the engineers to consider the possibility of construction of parallel drain for smooth flow of rain water which will avoid the flooding of water in the 4th Block.
The Executive Engineer has promised the Association to desilt and remove the obstructions in the main storm water drain immediately and instructed his team of engineers accordingly. M Chandrappa, Corporator, has also instructed them to remove all the obstructions in the main drain and expedite the work, before the onset of monsoon.
