Apprehending Encroachment into the BBMP Playground area by the allottee of a Civic Amenity site located adjacent to the playground, members of the Community have written to the BDA Commissioner and to the Additional Commissioner BBMP (South), requesting a survey of the land to draw the boundaries accurately.
The apprehension arises due to the manner in which the allottee, M/s Ananda Social and Educational Trust is taking up the construction work on the site.
The boundary markers demarcating the allotted Civic Amenity site have been steadily removed over the years and the present scaffolding poles are well outside the original survey markers. Residents are also apprehensive about the fact that Government has so far ignored the written complaints on this issue and is dragging its feet on taking action.
If this situation continues, residents are planning to take the issue up to the Lokayuktha to initiate action.
It may be recalled that City Kemp had already covered the manner in which the playground, home to hundreds of cricket and football players had been eaten away by the proposed school construction in the civic amenity site.
