Rotary Koramangala installs Interact Club at Sophia High School

To build the future leaders of tomorrow, Rotary club supports and sponsors Interact clubs which are for the youth aged 12-18. Interactclub gives the young minds the chance to make a real difference while having fun. Interactors carry out projects that help their school or community and give them opportunity to make international connections.
Rotary club Koramangala recently installed an Interact club 2016-17 at Sophia Girls High School. President 2016-17 Rtn Shambhu Sharma and Youth Services Director Rtn Ikram Ahmed Khan were present at the installing and the presentation of pins to the enthusiastic Interactors. The programme was well attended by the upcoming new members, faculty and staff of the school. The Interactor selected their President, Secretary and Office bearers of the board who will lead the club. They will govern themselves with support from the parent club, Rotary Koramangala. During the installation President Rtn Shambhu explained the Rotary “Four-Way Test” and welcomed the Interactors to the Rotary family.
Rtn Ikram also spoke about how each of these new members can make a difference to the community by engaging in projects that touches human lives. The Interactors were raring to go and had fruitful discussions with Rtn Ikram on a sound pollution reduction project.
Both the office bearers of the club committed their support to the success of the projects that will be taken up.

Installation of Interact Club at Sophia School

Interact is the school level club for youngsters aged 12-18 who come together to tackle the issues in the community that they most care about and also assume leadership roles when required.
Every year, Sophia High School, nominates students from the 9th standard to form the ‘Sophia Interact  Club’’ encouraging and motivating students to take part in this wonderful initiative. This club is one of the most active and enthusiastic clubs which works on different projects in order to help and reach out to people in need and make our society a better one.
Inspired by the activities of the seniors and the eventful past year, the new batch of  interact leaders were installed with the pinning of the badges to various office bearers and the Board of Directors, on June 22 in the august presence of the Principal, parents, teacher co-ordinators Rotarians, parents and peers in the Sophia High School auditorium.
The new office bearers are:President- Ahana C Pairee; Vice President-Anushka Doshi; Secretary- Nivedhana R; Treasurer- Aarushi  Nema; Sergeant–at–arms-Mahima V  Hathwar. Directors: Preksha Krishnan, Prapthi Bopana, Komal Jain, Uditi Dedhia, Parineeta Mahajan, Ananya Satish, Harshini Poorna Sindhu
The event was graced by the chief guest Rotarians Shashi Diwakar, President Shambhu Sharma, Youth Services Director Ikram Ahmed Khan, Rotarians Nandu and Abhik, who were other guests.
The  guests gave the batch an eye-opening introduction to the functioning of the Rotary Club and Interact Club. Useful tips on taking initiative and working for social driven causes were also imparted.
Various projects taken up by our dynamic team of last year were shared  during the programme. The team had conducted tuck-shops, bake sales, old clothes and book collection drives. They co-ordinated the collection of food materials for the World Hunger Project which brought the whole school together under one umbrella.
This not only inspired but also motivated us to bring as many smiles as possible through our work and dedication. A rallying speech was also given to us by Principal, Sr. Alpana, reassuring us that she will always be with us, holding our hand, helping and guiding us throughout our entire journey.
The programme ended on an exciting and successful note with a note of thanks for the event by the parents, students and Rotarians.
