It was an odyssey into the world of art in Koramangala last Sunday. Hundreds of children deeply immersed in the broad drawing sheet gave vent to their imaginations during the on-the-spot painting competition held at Chamundeshwari Park in Koramangala 8th block under the aegis of Koramangala 8th Block Welfare Association.
Residents, RWA President L Nagaraj, Secretary B D Nagaraj, Vice President Sridhar, Treasurer harish Babu, former Corporator Murugesh Modaliyar, RWA MC members and others were present. Later Ln Chamundeshwari Ramalinga Reddy who was the chief guest distributed prizes to the winners.
More than 250 students in the age group of 5 to 15 years participated in the painting competition organised by Koramangala 8th Block Welfare Association. Children from various schools in Koramangala took part.
Once the drawing sheets were distributed, the creative minds, armed with drawing kits and other paraphernalia, brought out various facets of ‘Swatcha Bharat’ through bold images and good play of colours. The children crouched, kneeling over drawing sheets, watercolours and pencils all along the park pathway. Within minutes you could see just-painted pictures spread across the pathway. Besides, there were some interesting ideas that surfaced through all the paint stained palms, spilt water and mess.
The contest was conducted in three categories 1 to 3 standard; 4 to 7 standard and 8 to 10 standard.
Three prizes were given under each category.
As the results were announced one by one, the children who were eagerly waiting, cheerfully applauded the winners. Each winner emerged from the group to collect the certificate and a gift from the chief guests.
