Ahead of BBMP polls, the civic body leaped into action and laid a fresh layer of tar along the stretch on 7th cross in Koramangala 3rd Block on Saturday. This move has provided much relief to the residents as well as regular commuters.
Till recently, the 7th Cross Road from BDA Complex junction to Raheja residency junction was in bad shape with potholes due to BWSSB work of laying sewage pipeline. Only last month, the residents had called the Minister Ramalinga Reddy to apprise of the problems faced by the residents due to bad condition of the road especially from 12th main to Raheja Residency junction. The Minister had assured to get the work done at the earliest.
Since this road witnesses a lot of traffic as it separates 3rd and 4th Blocks besides motorists use it as a short cut to reach Sarjapur Road, the authorities ensured it was fixed at the earliest.
As part of the Mestripalya Lake work, the sewage lines from the 3rd Block were connected to the newly laid line on the 7th Cross so that the sewage flowed directly to the subline near Kamal Bakery of ST Bed instead of going round the 4th Block.
After this, the authorities had partially laid tar on this road sometime back to a stretch towards BDA complex. Now the BBMP finally woke up to restore the road which was sanctioned long back. The road works is undertaken by BBMP Major Roads Wing.
Thanking the quick action by the BBMP, Chandrakumar, a resident said, “It’s good that the BBMP has responded to complaints by laying a fresh layer of tar. Let it fix the potholes in all parts of Koramangala so that the motorists can travel with ease.”
