ENERA organises water adalat at Rama Temple Road, Ejipura

IMG-20150312-WA0015city kempEjipura is one among the fast developing ward in south Bengaluru. This is because its central location and proximity to shopping malls, food joints, and commercial establishments operating at Koramangala. There are about six high schools in this ward. This ward was merged with BBMP limits during the year 1995 when the wards were increased to 100.
Simultaneously other problems cropped up. Though the ward was connected with Cauvery water line during 2006, the water owes of the residents never solved at many pockets. This is mainly due to rapid developments coupled with illegal drawing of Cauvery water by many multi-storeyed buildings. Such multi-storeyed buildings are coming up without any check by the officials concerned. Owners once completed the building, immediately resorts to pressurise for water and power supply. This led to severe Cauvery water crises at several pockets.
Considering the gravity of the water crises and with a view to sort out the problems, Ejipura New Extension Residents’ Association swing into action. They continuously prevailing upon the BWSSB authorities, local Corporator Saroja Veerappa and Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy to solve the problem. Several rounds of meetings between BWSSB Engineers and ENERA representatives were held at Ramalinga Reddy’s home office and at Ejipura New Extension. Yet the problem remained the same.
Ultimately considering the request of ENERA, Minister Ramalinga Reddy insisted the BWSSB Engineers to provide extra 50 MLD Cauvery water to Johnson Market CLR from where Viveknagar, Ejipura, Domlur and surrounding areas are getting Cauvery water supply. Precautionary measures were taken by BWSSB officials to control the misuse of water at main control valve near Dairy Circle. More than 50 public borewells were sunk in Ejipura ward 148 by BWSSB, BBMP and through MLA’s grant with a hope to overcome the water crises. Even after exhausting all these exercises, water owes remained as same at some pockets.
Considering the public demand, ENERA arranged a water adalath on Monday last. Jayaprakash, Assistant Engineer, BWSSB, Halsuru Sub-Division and Nanjunde Gowda, Water Inspector, BWSSB, Johnson Market CLR were present and heard the grievances. Ravindra Kumar, ENERA President, Chaired the meeting and monitored the proceedings.
Mauris D’souza, Ganesh Bekal, Vijaya Kumar, Lakshmipathy, Stanely D’Souza, Erappa R, Rathnam, June, Lawrance, Chandrakumar, Shankarappa, and many residents put forth their grievances by streetwise. Association Secretary P N Gopal cited the incidents that the officials presently working at our place are very cordial and responds quickly. Both, Jayaprakash, JE and NanjundeGowda,Water Inspector noted the problems case wise and assured to sort out the issues within fifteen days. PN Gopal, General Secretary delivered vote of thanks.
