Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy along with Corporator M Chandrappa and Councillor Ashok Reddy inaugurated Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations organised by Koramangala Kasthuri Kannadigara Vedike at Mestripalya Lake Park in Koramangala 4th Block on Thursday. Chief guests: Environmentalist Sowmya Reddy, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Vice President Puneeth and Secretary Harsha, Koramangala Block Congress President Govardhan Reddy, Kannadigara Vedike office bearers led by President Sampath Kumar, Vice President U V Venkatesh, Secretaries Uday Kumar and Ramesh, Joint Secretary L Narendra Singh, Treasurer K Yogananda Murthy, Senior Advisor Dr Umeshwara and Legal Advisor Ravishankar took park. Earlier in the day Dr Umeshwara hoisted the Kannada Flag and the State Anthem was sung.
Speaking on the occasion, the Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy said that all roads in Koramangala would be tarred by the end of December.
The Laskar-Hosur Road is being laid white topping for a stretch of 4 kilometres, very soon work on the 20th Main Road will be done in a similar way (concrete road), he said. For this funds have been already incorporated and work would start anytime, however, work on 80 feet road will be little later as it has been recently included and still some utilities have to be shifted besides the Ejipura-Kendriya Sadan Flyover work, he said.
The Minister was felicitated on the occasion by the Vedike members. Earlier Sowmya Reddy too spoke and thanked for the colouful celebrations. She too was felicitated. Corporator Chandrappa, Councillor Ashok Reddy and others were also felicitated. The evening saw a colourfull presentation of dance by the students of Spoorti Public School, Venkatapura. A resident Julie who hails from Srilanka sang a Kannada song cheering the crowd to applause.
