On 12th March, Sunday evening interested members from Koramangla and other areas of Bangalore (for e.g BTM Layout, R T Nagar, C V Raman Nagar, Electronic City etc.) visited the Holika Dahan festival in K R Nanjappa Layout of Koramangala 8th Block.
The gathering was not restricted to just Hindus but from other religions members as well, which showed up a good harmony in the evening.
The VIP visitors among the gathering were, Corporator Manjula Sampathkumar along with Sampathkumar, Congress Ward President Harish Babu, Congress Block President Govardhan Reddy, whose presence added extra Holi colors to the Festival celebration and they played colours as well with us.
The Holi fire setup was made following complete tradition, that included wood, dry cow-dung plates, dry cow-dung malas, dry people-tree leaves, camphor, ghee etc.
The ground was smeared with fresh cow-dung on which the Holi Fire was setup, which made the place sacred enough for the Festival.
People performed Pooja before the Holi was put on fire and after the Fire was set. Special Prasadam along with Thandai and Snacks were served to all. The next day, 13th Nov, people played with colours as well. The festival was celebrated with great zeal.
