Navvarsh Mahotsav 2017 concludes on a high note

Saraswathi Educational and Cultural Centre in collaboration with Ganapathy Seva Samithy, KHB Colony, Koramangala 5th Block organized a two-day dance festival on Jan 1 and Jan 2 in Koramangala.
The festival is the brain child of Kathakali exponent Prabal Gupta who entirely designed and coordinated the entire festival.
Gopal Gowda, the Vice President of the temple gave an inaugural speech. The festival was inaugurated by V K S Murthy , vedic scholar and an astrologer by chanting a prayer and lighting a lamp, followed by Gopal Gowda ( the Vice President of the temple), Bharatanatyam dancer and Rajyotsava awardee Guru B Bhanumathy, Ravi Gariyali ( The Managing Trustee of Saraswathi Educational and Cultural Centre) and Dr C K Gariyali (advisor of the trust) all lighting it. Later V K S Murthy was felicitated by Ravi Gariyali.
As a part of the dance festival, Guru Bhanumathy was felicitated with the Indira Gariyali Memorial Award as a revered guru and her immense contribution in the field of Bharatanatyam. V K S Murthy felicitated her enchanting a prayer.
The inaugural festival was followed with a Kathakali recital by Prabal Gupta and a Bharatanatyam recital by P Praveen Kumar.
The second day of the festival started with a Kuchipudi recital by Surya Rao, a senior disciple of Guru Veena Murthy Vijay. The Nadam ensemble concluded the festival with a mesmerizing Kathak recital. Both the days saw a huge turn out of rasikas. In all the festival was a grand success.
