Bhagavad Gita Chapter 12
Chinmaya Mission is conducting a discourse on Bhagavadgita Chapter 12 from 13th to 19th Nov 2016.
Chinmaya Mission is conducting a Gita Jnana Yagna from November 13 to 19 at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, 15th main, 4th Block, Koramangala by Brni. Vasumana Chaitanya, a gifted speaker, who is able to convey even difficult to understand messages in very simple language.
After completing BE (Electronics and Communications), she was in a lucrative and challenging Software Career. Influenced by discourses of Chinmaya Mission, she gave up the career and joined the Vedanta Course of Chinmaya Mission. Thereafter, after obtaining Deeksha, she has worked as Acharya of Chinmya Mission in Mangalore, Bengaluru, Shivamogga, etc. Presently, she is the Acharya of the Mysuru Centre.
The 12th Chapter, Bhakti Yoga deals on devotion and the characteristics of a true devotee. The common assumption of devotion is prayer to the Lord for granting our desires. But Lord Krishna gives a totally new dimension to Bhakti declaring that devotion is not just prayer but total surrender at the altar seeking nothing for. The compassionate Lord who has brought us to this world fully knows what our needs are. He has sent us to this world fully equipping us with everything we need in our journey from womb to tomb.
As devotes we should learn to accept whatever comes in our life as His Prasada and seek courage to face all circumstances with a smile. A true devotee does not get elated when things happen according to his thinking or get disturbed when faced with calamity. This is possible only with deep devotion and losing our identity of body, mind and intellect and attaining mastery over senses. Only such a person can lead a peaceful life without experiencing any duality and can remain calm in adverse and favorable situations. The Chapter also clearly explains the method of worshipping the Lord with and without form and the advantages of worshipping with form for a beginner.
Sadhaks in Koramangala are indeed lucky to listen to her on one of the most beautiful topics – Bhakti Yoga – Chapter 12 that highlights mainly on the qualities of a true devotee and the true meaning of devotion with tips on how success can be achieved by inculcating the right attitude.
It also gives an insight on how realised sadhak and how He interacts with the world outside after attaining the supreme knowledge and continues to serve mankind without any selfish interest.
Chinmaya Mission extends an open invitation to all students of spirituality to make use of this opportunity and spread the message to all likeminded persons.
