Zooming on wheels is a holistic approach for perfect physical and mental conditioning.
There was a sparkling enthusiasm in the crowd and the parents in the group were found excited when ESTHER ROLLER SKATING CLUB happily launched skating batches for adults. Inspired by the fabulous results of the students, last Sunday the club held a function at NGV rink. Esther Bernard Prasanna the founder of the club paved the way for all to zoom on skates. With the motto ‘born to skate’, a decade old club has consistently trained hundreds of aspiring students till now.
“Skating is a sport with no age bar. Be it a kid or adult, it fits every one’s suitcase. Roller skating is more fun when you enjoy doing it” said Esther prasanna in her speech. She also added that “it serves purpose of all body types, provided the skater should motivate himself to be on wheels”. More over research suggest that women are more capable of taking this sport. Like children, adults will also be trained under professional coaches. Esther is an international skater and has won 25 time National golds, 3times Asians and 1 world championship.
She has been honoured with PRATIBHA PURASKAR award for the year 2000, 2001 and2003.She was the youngest skater to represent India at 6th Asian roller championship held in the year 1995 at Japan. She also represented India at 7th and 8th Asian championships in the year 1997 and 1999 respectively. She has been awarded as outstanding sport person in the year 1995. She is also the recipient of young achiever award for the year 1995, she has represented India in the world championship held at France in the year 2001 and stood 24th. Esther has bagged more than 100+ gold medals till now.
“This was a long awaited project for all of us. Along with the fitness, it is a skill which parents can also enjoy with their children. This blends the latest physical mastery and healthy lifestyle techniques” said one of the excited parents. Overall the joyful atmosphere witnessed the enthusiasm of elders to take part in this program.
