The Manipuri Meitei Association Bangalore, MMAB is proud to have successfully organized the Unity Concert,on the 20th Feb 2016 at St’Joseph’s Auditorium, next to Mallaya hospital.
The day started with a lighting ceremony to open the function, followed by an opening song by the renowned artists of Manipur – Naba Volcano, Hamom Sadananda, Sorri Senjam and Aphao.
It was followed by the launch of a Bangalore Based Manipuri Band- Palem. The much awaited renowned artists from Manipur then started churning out hits after hits, treating the crowd to a royal entertainment. The renowed artists from Manipur were honoured appropriately – Naba Volcano(Lifetime achivement Award),Hamom Sadananda(Super Star of Manipur),Sorri Senjam (Trend Setter Modern Music Composer), Aphao (Emerging Star). The pillars of MMAB, all the excecutive committee members of the current term are introduced to the audience. There was a heart touching enthnic fashion show showcasing the beautiful traditional dresses of Manipur. It was then followed by some wonderful performances from the Bangalore based Bands – Boss Armando, Heavy Water and Koubru keeping the audiences entertained. Then there was a final round of enthralling performances from the superstar artists from Manipur to conclude the event. It was heart warming to see people from all walks of life – listening and lost in the music and songs of their favourite artists,clearly fufilling the concept and the aim of organizing this Unity Concert.
