The residents of ST Bed were facing problem of overflowing manholes and clogged drains since several months. The ST Bed Residents’ Welfare Association was pursuing this problem with BWSSB on several occasions. In the meantime, the temporary measures taken by BWSSB to solve this problem did not yield the desired results.
Hence some residents – Nanaiah, CH Ram former President of ST Bed RWA, Mohan Raju, Secretary of ST Bed RWA and Vittal Rao, Joint Secretary of ST Bed RWA had a meeting to take some concrete measures to resolve the problem. It was decided to take the issue to the notice of the BWSSB chairman. BWSSB officials Rahul of BWSSB Subline division and Satish, Executive Engineer BWSSB visited the layout and suggested some measures to solve the problem to some extent like constant pumping and de-silting of the drains.
On 3 Oct, BWSSB officials Satish Executive Engineer, Laximanth AEE, Naveen as well as Dinakar came along with several jetting machines and started the work of de-silting the drain on all the affected roads. Residents Ram, Mohan Raju, Ananthram, Nanaiah, Satyanarayana, Chandrasekhar and several other residents took part in supervising the operation.
