Ejipura New Extension Residents’ Association (ENERA) is one of the oldest and active Residents’ Welfare Association in and around Koramangala/Ejipura neighbourhood.
They completed fifteenth year in existence with record service for local residents and community in general. Their efforts paid dividend when UGD and new Cauvery water line was laid by BWSSB to Ejipura ward from Johnson Market CLR during 2006.
While renovating and laying concrete roads at Ejipura, many members extended their full support and extended helping hand with BBMP engineers so as to complete the work smoothly. Several civic and sanitation issues were solved with their continuous interactions with the civic authorities. Eipura is better lit with streetlight, high mast lights with the active and vigilant members of this RWA.
During fifteenth Annual General Body Meeting held on Sunday at Asha Nilaya in Ejipura, Ravindra Kumar, President of ENERA in his invocation address recalled the efforts and services of all past members with whose blessings only ENERA became a model in the neighbourhood.“Due to the efforts of our members entire scenario of our area is changed and today this locality became a sought after place to live in Ejipura”, he added.
The AGM was begun with prayer by Kum. Priya and friends. Treasurer Krishna Kumar presented the annual accounts and General Secretary P N Gopal read the 15th annual report. A programme of work for the next year was duly discussed and adopted. The programmes are:
l Follow up action with BWSSB authorities to lay urgently 12”dia Cauvery water lines between Ejipura Bus stand and VRR Home so as to solve water crises.
lPursue BBMP authorities with the help of ward corporator and try to get space for a water tank, pump house, watchman shed with a view to build and supply water exclusively for Ejipura.
lPrevailing upon BBMP and corporator to improve of all main and artillery roads of Ejipura which are now in very bad shape.
lTry to have a water purification centre forEjipura for the purify and supply of clean and healthy water for the residents.
Interaction session followed with many local complaints. President Ravindra Kumar heard the grievances and General Secretary P N Gopal recorded the issues so to initiate follow up action through civic authorities. Lakshmipathy and Alex from Pearl Nursery road narrated the problem of sewage overflow, drinking water mixed with sewage at their place. Magaraj another resident complained about the irregular city bus services at Ejipura bus terminus. John, a resident from 24 cross narrated about insufficient Cauvery water supply and poor road condition of 24 F cross. Henry, Mrs June and many others insisted to prevail upon the BWSSB authorities for redressal of cauvery water supply. “We will follow it up,” Ravindra Kumar assured.
After the AGM, RWA honoured newly elected BBMP corporator T Ramachandra for his great victory in recently held BBMP elections. Ravindra Kumar briefed about his commitments, social service and duly presented a memento as a token of appreciation.
He brought to his notice several civic issues encountered by the residents and duly presenting a charter of demands with a view to develop Ejipura as a modal ward within his term. Corporator Ramachandra in his reply assured to work for the ward development and sought cooperation from the ENERA.
“Let us work together for the betterment of our people, I need your guidance while dealing with important civic issues”, he added.
General Secretary PN Gopal delivered the vote of thanks. The AGM was followed with fellowship lunch.
