WPckCity Kemp News
On the request of residents, DCP Traffic (East),  C K Baba made two successive visits to Koramangala and Sarjapur Road to study the effect of traffic diversion on the previously quiet lanes of Koramangala.
During the first visit on July 15, a memorandum was submitted to him by Koramangala 3rd Block residents and Kudremukh Colony residents.
Some of the residents walked with the DCP from         St Francis School gate upto Kudremukh Colony and he spent more than an hour with residents. The tour was conducted during off peak hours from 3 pm to 4.30 pm.
Much to the pleasant surprise of residents the DCP expressed a desire to visit the area again during peak hours and visited the same areas again from 6 pm to 8 pm on July 17 to see for himself the situation during peak hours.
DCP Baba stood at the Krupanidhi junction for two hours watching the flow of traffic in all directions. ACP Traffic Adugodi Gopala Reddy was also present.
He has agreed to some of the specific requests made and promised residents implementation within a week’s time.
DCP Baba appeared a young dynamic and capable officer who is not afraid to stand personally with his men amidst a highly polluted area in the interests of better traffic management.
3rd Block RWA to donate gas masks to cops
Responding to a request by the DCP, Koramangala 3rd Block Residents’ Welfare Association agreed to sponsor gas masks for all traffic police constables falling under Adugodi and Madivala traffic police stations.
This gesture was much appreciated by ACP and Inspectors of Madivala and Adugodi traffic police stations who were present.

Mitigation measures requested to tackle local area traffic problems in Koramangala 3rd Block arising fro Sarjapur Road one-way
Background
lHuge increase in through traffic through inner roads (by a factor of 2)
lResidents of Koramangala 3rd Block not able to enter/exit the block without taking close to 20 minutes.
lAlternative paths are available for through traffic but these are not being used since the interior roads save some travelling distance
Solutions Suggested:
lService Road creation (restoration) ;  Along the Kudremukh colony side of Sarjapur Road starting from Krupanidhi college upto Water Tank junction. Service Road will benefit residents in CPWD quarters and Kudremukh colony.
lService Road existed earlier and was removed to facilitate 2 way traffic on Sarjapur Road.
lService Road will be blocked for entry from Kudremukh side and traffic on the service road will have to turn left at the Water Tank junction toward Kendriya Sadan.
lTwo gaps in Service Road median at Kudremukh gate and at CPWD main gate to facilitate entry and exit for residents.
lStatus:  Pending

Service Road One-way direction reversal:
lService road stretch from 8th Main Road to St Francis School gate is now one way from St Francis School upto 8th Main Road. Direction of one way is to be reversed to make the road one way from 8th Main road upto St Francis School gate.
lReason:  Traffic from Jakkasandra, Sarjapur Road and HSR bound for Sony World signal and beyond is now flowing freely on the Service Road and routing through all internal roads instead of taking Madivala Santhe Road and Hosur Road – Ayappa Temple Junction and back to Water tank (which is the recommended route). An alternative route exists also to turn right on 7th Main Road (80 ft road) at the Aishwarya Bakery junction.
lStatus:  Pending
