Deep devotional fervour at Rama Navami celebrations

city kemp IMG-20150328-WA0068 city kempSaturday saw hundreds of devotees visiting temples as part of Sri Rama Navami celebrations in Koramangala.
Special prayers were offered in decorated places of worship, especially in 3rd Block at Sri Kodandarama Swami Temple and in many temples across 8th Block and also at the Indian Heritage Academy premises.
Apart from this, there were many roadside pandals which were erected by the devotees who offered free ‘Panaka’ and buttermilk to the passers-by. It was a treat for the pedestrians when the temperatures were relatively high.
At Kodandarama Swami Temple, apart from special pujas there was mass feeding. Large number of people took part in the festivities in the temple.
Sri Rama Seva Mandali
The centre of attraction was the six-day Sri Rama Navami celebrations at the Indian Heritage Academy Hall, organised by the Sri Rama Seva Mandali and Indian Heritage Academy.
The Sri Rama Navami music festival is something that Carnatic classical music lovers could ill-afford to miss.
At Rama Seva Mandali, the day began with the installation of the idol of Lord Rama, followed by puja and Abhisheka to Lord Rama by the Mandali office bearers. These rituals were performed with great religious fervour and gaiety. Devotees sang hymns in praise of Lord Ram to add to the gaiety and fervour of celebrations.
At Peace Auto stand, its founder Anil Shetty and others distributed panaka to the people. In 1st Block Jakkasandra Extension Kishan Naik and team distributed panaka to the public. Similarly in Koramangala 8th Block too at various places it was celebrated in a grand way.
