In a development which will bring huge relief to the hapless Koramangalite stuck in the horrendous traffic jams that have become a part of daily existence, the State Cabinet has finally cleared funding for the much awaited Elevated Flyover from Ejipura to Kendriya Sadan along the Intermediate Ring Road.
The Elevated Road is expected to span a distance of 2.3 Km and will cross a number of major junctions including the Ejipura Junction, Sony World, Ooty Chocolates junction, Canara Bank junction, Sukh Sagar junction, BDA Complex and Water Tank junction.
Motorists bound for Koramangala can exit through a left ramp at the Water tank junction towards Sarjapur Road. Those proceeding further to Kendriya Sadan can join Hosur Road through a free left turn which will be provided at the Ayappa Temple junction. Funding for this project was originally provided and cleared under the Jnnurm scheme of the previous UPA Government at the Centre. After the NDA came to power, the Jnnurm scheme was shelved and the project had to get financial funding through the State Government.
Citizens of Koramangala will have much to celebrate due to this project. Notwithstanding the delay, the flyover is expected to decrease the congestion on the surface level of 100 ft road by almost 80 % and free the road for internal movement between the various blocks of Koramangala.
Koramangalites have expressed their thanks to Sri Ramalinga Reddy, Minister for Transport, who has followed up this project for years and have also  thanked Sri KJ George, Bangalore Development Minister for sanctioning the project funds.
