Residents of K R Nanjappa Layout in Koramangala 8th Block celebrated Holi festival with full of joy and enthusiasm. It was a day which brought together many families from different background on this special day. The celebrations for the festival began on the previous day (Thursday nevening) with the Holika Dahan (Holi Fire) and around one hundred people assembled to make the celebrations special.
People from all age group took part in the celebrations and applied colours on each other.
During the course of the celebrations they distributed sweets and snacks to all. Earlier pooja was performed. Members from Samskruthi Ladies’ Association and Spoorthy Mahila Sangha too had come and actively participated in the celebrations.
“It was very good experience for us and we all enjoyed a lot throughout the holi celebrations, it also brought all the residents together which is unique”, residents said.
“Usually people won’t get much time to spend time with others, but Holi has brought all together”, residents added.
Thanks to the resident Prakash Raval who started this celebration in the year 2007. “I just felt like doing small holi fire in front of my home so we can fulfill our pooja wishes”, he said.
“First time we had just 8 people for the pooja. Me with my family and my first floor family of five”, he said. “Then it got increased by some more friends and neighbours joining year after year. Later on many more interested people came to know that we do Holi Fire here. This year nearly around 100 people gathered for Holi Fire pooja”, he said “From the last four years, we are getting help from our layout people as well”, he added.
The residents played Holi with water and colour very next day of Holi Fire.
