Vocal concert by Dr Sreevalsan J Menon on March 15

Sreevalsan city kempThere will a grand vocal recital by Vidwan Dr Sreevalsan J Menon for Nadasurabhi on March 15 at 4.15 pm at the Indian Heritage Academy Hall in Koramangala 6th Block. Vidushi Charulatha Ramanujam on the violin, Vidwan R S R Srikanth on the Mridangam and Vidwan S N Narayanamurthy on the Ghatam, will accompany him.
Dr Sreevalsan Menon is a disciple of late Neyyattinkara Vasudevan. Dr Menon is an A Grade artiste of AIR. He has given concerts and lecture demonstrations on carnatic music in India, Middle East, UK, USA, Canada and Africa. He is a recipient of Kerala Sangeet Natak Academy Award in 2013. He has won several awards from prestigious organisations like the Music Academy and Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai. Dr Menon has also participated in jugalbandhis and western fusion themes with great success.
Vidushi Charulatha is a leading carnatic violinist and a highly acclaimed accompanying artiste. Vid RSR Srikanth is a disciple of Umayalpuram Sivaraman and Srimushnam Raja Rao. He is an A Grade mridangam artist of AIR. Vid. Narayanamurthy is a senior much sought after ghatam vidwan in Bangalore.
Nadasurabhi, in an unique initiative, took Carnatic Music to the schools.
Vidwan R Vasudevan presented lecture-demonstrations and conducted introductory interactive sessions in the Chinmaya Vidhyalaya and B-Mona High School. More than 500 children participated and enjoyed the new learning experience. See report on next page.
The 6th Music Course of Nadasurabhi by Vidwan R N Thyagarajan comprising of very rare Thyagaraja kritis, is scheduled for 21st, 22nd,28th and 29th of March.
