Rotarians hold a Peace March

Today is the 113th Year of Rotary in Service. Dist.3190 celebrated with a Peace March starting from Freedom Park. The Lady Rotarians of Koramangala dressed as the Peace Icons and won prize.
Rtn.Micky Sujan dressed as-Malala Yousafzai: Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate. Born 12 July 1997 in Mingora, Pakistan.
Rtn.Kalpana dressed as -Aung San Suu Kyi The Burmese freedom fighter who won the prze in 1991 in recognition of her leading role in the non-violent struggle for democracy and human rights in Burma.
Annet Vasuki dressed as – Mother Teresa: Born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in Skopje in 1910, the founder of the Missionaries of Charity won the 1979 prize for her work caring for the poor in the slums of Calcutta.
Despte having no money she built her Christian order into a worldwide organization with the help of volunteers and charitable donations.
RCBK President Rtn. Janet Yegneswaran dressed as -Wangari Maathai: Wangari Muta Maathai was an internationally renowned Kenyan environmental political activist and Nobel laureate. Born 1st April 1940 Died 25th Sepember 2011. Nairobi, Kenya. Was the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004 for her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace.
Maathai stood up courageously against the former oppressive regime in Kenya. She has served as inspiration for many in the fight for democratic rights and has especially encouraged women to better their situation. She has mobilized poor women to plant 30 million trees. The Green Belt Movement.
Blue & White helium baloons were released in celebration of 113 Years of Rotary in Service.
