Free oral awareness and dental checkup held

A team of Doctors and Psychologists from Narain Sewa Sansthan took the initiative to conduct the awareness programme on the occasion of National Oral Hygiene Day at Kanaswadi, Nelamangala, Bangalore rural.
The main focus was to conduct the programme for children who are away from the regular basic oral hygiene and who lacks proper dental guidance. A free oral awareness and dental check up programme was conducted in which more than 130 students got benefitted. Majority were having half decay tooth because of unavailability of dental clinic in the nearby areas. At present, rarely any dentists are interested to serve rural mass because they don’t want to leave the luxurious life of urban areas.
Khushboo Rani a Psychologist from Sansthan said, “It is very important to consume balanced diet for the overall oral health of an individual.” Which are missing in our day to day life. We are not consuming seasonal fruits as well on daily basis. We are more dependent on artificial cool drinks, thinking it as source of vitamins. The correct brushing technique with material was also demonstrated in the program by Dr. Sachin Sinha.
On the occasion, Dr. Vonita Das Public health professional found that the level of fluoride in water is more towards Nelmangala- Doddabalapur region. The high level of fluoride in water is also not good for bone and teeth. It causes Fluorosis. Head master of the School Mr. T. Rangaswamy and Vice head master B. Ramanna appreciated the initiative taken by Sansthan for serving the rural people.
