G M Shetty, President of the Association, while welcoming Akshaya, said that City Kemp was doing a great job and every Sunday morning we would be waiting to see it to know the news of Koramangala and surrounding areas. It’s editor is an experienced journalist having started his career with ‘Star of Mysore’, a largest circulated English daily from Mysore, and has worked with ‘Vijay Times’ now known as ‘Bangalore Mirror’. Thereafter, he joined ‘Jagran City Plus’ for its newly launched Koramangala edition and worked there until he started his own newspaper, G M Shetty said.
Since Koramangala is a cosmopolitan area consisting of multi-cultured society, he succeeded in bringing out the news covering various cultural programs, community news, club programs, various associations’ programs etc, he said.
G M Shetty also mentioned that about four years back, Akshaya started an independent English Weekly newspaper widely known as ‘City Kemp’ in Koramangala, which covers various news of Koramangala and other areas.
Shetty has further added that Akshaya was awarded various awards by Rotary clubs, associations, Mahila Sanghas, Kannada Sanghas etc. in recognition of his hard work and publishing the news without fear or favour, thereby maintaining the Freedom of Press.
