Students of Shree Veena Institute of Music created a cultural ambience thoroughly intertwined with a richness of classical antiquity. This cultural extravaganza entertained the crowd to the core of universal musical expressions, as the young maestros presented vast and varied array of rhythm cycles emphasizing melody and harmony.
The artistic taste is latent in all. It refines the manners, deepens and ennobles the emotional nature by giving grace to human expressions. “Among all the musical traditions of the world, no genre lays so much emphasis on rhythm as does the Indian music,” said Shrikant G Devipur the founder of the institute. He congratulated all the students for displaying artistic virtuosity. He also said “as a fore runner of the present day styles, significance of tabla among percussion instruments remains undiminished.”
Shrikanth G Devipur is a legendary tabla artist who has given a new dimension to the art of tabla playing. He is the recipient of prestigious “swara kala gaurav” puraskar 2009 and alankar degree in 1997. He is coaching students at National Public School, Koramangala & Rajajinagar.
Last Sunday the institute celebrated its annual day where his disciples created a musical atmosphere by arranging time and sound into multifaceted patterns of rhythmic complexities. Young artists Sanjay, Vishnu, Nikhil, Milind, Lohit, Aditya, Abhay, Druv, Vignesh, Mihir, Vinayaka, Tanush, Tishya, Rakesh, Sannappa and Jesudas performed, tabla solo.
Renowned Hindustani classical vocalist Chidananda Devaramani presented wonderful and aesthetic pieces of classical music. Beautiful compositions of raag Brundavani Sarang, patadeep and Bhairavi reflected our rich social heritage.
Karnatic classical vocalist and chief guest vidhushi Aparna Chnadar spoke about the intricacies of classical music. She also congratulated all the talented and innovative young artists. All the participents were given with momentos for their wonderful performance.
