Bal Vikas celebrated 67th Republic Day of our Nation in a colourful and grand manner at ST Bed Layout at Ranga Mandira of Kormanagala.
The theme of the event was ‘Love All Respect All’, over 40 children of Bal Vikas, belonged to different age-groups and backgrounds, presented a wonderful show consisting of different performances- Doha-Antakshari, Qawali, Poetic Symposium and Songs.
The performances represented many languages of India – Punjabi (Puppet Dance), Kannada (Group Dance) Qawali (Sufi-Sindhi), and Avadhi-Hindi (Doha Antakshari). Also, poetic symposium and group dances conveyed strong social and patriotic messages like importance of time, love your country etc.
A humorous skit depicting ‘Importance of Time and Human Life’and also highlighting the ‘evils of begging’was appreciated by the audience. Children of Sewa-in-Action, NGO for special children also performed a group dance on a patriotic song.
Residents of ST bed layout society appreciated the programme stating “teaching such human values to our children is the need of the hour”. The event was aimed at spreading the message of harmony, love and acceptance amongst fellow-beings. A celebration of different cultural backgrounds and languages is truly a Republic Day celebration. As a gesture of gratitude and appreciation, gifts were distributed by chief guest, Pamela Krishnan, Member ST Bed Layout Residents’ Welfare Association and Kalyani Vaidhyanathan, Member of ST Bed Layout Residents’ Welfare Association to all the participants and goodies to the kids in the audience section. The entire programme was designed and choreographed by Sushma Ahuja. This function ended with the National Anthem.
