Chinmaya Vidyalaya Koramangala has been in the forefront in adopting modern technology for enhancing classroom teaching. Recognising the need for imparting certain basic skills to the children far as back as in 2009, Do It Yourself (DIY) unit was started which has been widely accepted and appreciated by both the students as well as the parents.
DIY unit has been upgraded during 2014-2015 and a modern workshop for skill development has been set up in Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Koramangala.
The unit imparts training for children from VIII standard onwards and the workshop gives training to children on basic skills in plumbing, electrical fittings, electronics and related matters. The training is given by skilled personnel and training is ‘hands on’. During 2015-2016 the programme has been integrated with the syllabus for ICSE which is welcome by both the students and parents. The philosophy behind this is that educated children should be able to handle certain day to day issues safely and with confidence. This is one of its kind among Chinmaya Vidyalayas all over the country intending to scale greater heights with more innovative ideas from all corners.
