Residents Get Lessons on Waste-management

Over 50 residents of Koramangala especially representatives of various RWAs got lessons in garbage management on Saturday.
Solid Waste Management Round Table (SWMRT) N S Ramakanth, BBMP Assistant Executive Engineer Yogesh,  enlightened them of the importance of reducing and segregating waste at source. If citizens segregated waste at source, the BBMP would save around crores of rupees in transportation costs.
With the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) stressing the need to segregate garbage at source, several organisations, RWAs, individuals across the city have now taken it upon themselves to create awareness on recycling, collecting dry waste and discarding only wet waste.
Residents welcomed the idea of segregating waste at households itself. BBMP handed out pamphlets to residents. Corporator M Chandrappa, 6th Block RWA President Jayaramu Dr 1st Block RWA President Annie Joseph, Umeshwara from 5th Block,  4th Block RWA President G M Shetty, 3rd Block RWA President Nitin Seshadri and others were present.
