State government has initiated the implementation of the proposed Devanahalli Business Park (DBP) project near the Kempe Gowda International Airport (KIA) and is working on a detailed plan to develop 413.65 acres of land near the airport
The Karnataka State Industrial Investment and Development Corporation (KSIIDC), is the nodal agency for implementing the project, recently shortlisted two companies to be appointed as project consultant. The project will have:
– IT & ITeS parks/SEZs on a 50-acre plot
– 35 acres will be earmarked for a central business district under DBP.
– Three multi-speciality hospitals,
– A finance district,
– An aviation academy will also be developed.
– Bengaluru International Convention Centre (BICC), at an estimated cost of Rs 1,000 crore to b designed by Populous Designs Ltd, the building can accommodate 6,000 people.
BICC will be fitted with customized solar paneled roofing and wall elements, apart from rain water harvesting provisions. Only 40 per cent of the 35 acres will occupy buildings.
The KSIIDC has already prepared a concept plan to develop a state-of-the-art BICC comprising a convention hall with 6,000 seating capacity, an exhibition hall, food court and related infrastructure.
