There is a proposal for upgrading the 66 KV power sub-station at NGV to 220 KV by the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL).
On Saturday, S Sumanth, Director – Transmission – KPTCL inspected the existing 66KV Sub-Station at National Games Village in Koramangala. Despite being a holiday, he held discussions with the Chief Engineer and other senior staff to find ways and means to upgrade the over 25 year old station to 220 KV.
In keeping with the needs of the upscale layout Koramangala and this is a big positive as it will improve the system capacity and capabilities manifold and City Kemp hereby thanks the initiative.
Once the power substation is upgraded with the most modern technology, it would certainly meet future electricity demand needs in the locality and adjoining areas.
Till the NGV power sub-station was commissioned sometime in 1990s, Koramangala and surrounding areas were solely depending upon the Adugodi Sub-Station which was of just 20MVA capacity.
