North East Fest on April 11 at Adugodi Police Grounds

city kempWant to witness the traditional dance from the North East India, then head straight to North East Fest that will be held in your neighbourhood on April 11 from 3 pm.
The ‘North East Fest 2015’ will be held on April 11 at CAR South Police Grounds, Adugodi under the aegis of the North East Welfare Association Karnataka (NEWAK) in association with Bangalore City Police to bring peace and to promote peace to the citizens of Karnataka and India. Their main purpose in the organization is to safeguard the interest of the Northeasterners for their all-round development in all spheres of life: be of their physical safety, education, professional interests etc.
This idea came up when there were a series of attacks happen to North-easterners, leaders keep running between police stations and courts but the rift between the mainland Indian and the North-East Indian remains the same.
This event will also showcase the cultural and heritage of the North East Indians viz Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Sikkim.
The North East Fest 2015 will contain four mains programmes and activities: The 8-States Ethnic-Cultural Show / Cutural dances / Couple parade; The Rock-Band and Artist performances; Selection of Miss North East Karnataka 2015 and; Exotic dishes and traditional food items of the 8-sisters states of India.
This programme will be graced by Kiran Rijiju, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Govt. of India. K J George, Home Minister, Govt.of Karnataka. M N Reddi, Commissioner of Police; C M Kantharajappa, DCP –CAR South Adugodi Police; and D’Souza, DCP –Nodal Officer, North East, will be the guests of honour.
Dances to be performed: Arunachal Pradesh – Traditional dances; Nagaland Tradional dances; Manipuri Traditional dances; Kuki Cultural dances;Tripura Cultural dance (Hojagiri); Choir from Meghalaya; Sikkim- Nepalese dance; Artists: Blank Cheque; Blediam; Naga Band; Mizo Band; Straight Phrride and Fire Ants.
