BBMP’s open favouritism
Congratulations for your courage in publishing the BBMP’s open favouritism to the kins of powerful people. (BBMP disregards HC order- City Kemp Jan 30-Feb 5, 2015). The daily “Bangalore Mirror” (1 Feb 2015) has also published this report. It would be interesting to find out how many commercial eatery applications have been bypassed and BBMP has given this license out-of-turn to Mohandas Pai’s son, as reported in the above media.
Worth going deep and in case there is misuse and abuse of official position, bringing responsible officer’s to book and if necessary, cancel the commercial license if wrongly given in misuse of the vested powers. Such licenses given in the past also needs to be investigated. Also it appears BBMP has further looked the other way. The eatery which has been shown favour overlooking the HC order, does not have parking space. I think there is a rule that eateries must have adequate parking arrangements. The road itself is small. If one looks at the residential bunglow, the entire compound facing the road has been taken up by two commercial outlets- one is the eatery ‘154 the breakfast club’ and the other a boutique. Is it a residential place or a commercial place.
News papers have reported that Union Home Secretary was sacked by the Central Government because he interfered in the reported Sarada case in the matter of arrest of former minister Matang. What about action against the BBMP Commissioner who has instructed ‘to help’ and the officer who actually issued the licenses ‘under instructions of the BBMP commissioner’.
