As many as 35 saplings were planted on the median between the Sarjapur Road and Service Road in front of St John’s Hospital on Sunday by Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy who was joined by the residents of various block of Koramangala. St John’s Wood residents sponsored metal tree gaurds.
It may be recalled that in total disregard to High Court order, the Bengaluru Development Authority had cut down 34 trees for laying underpasses on this stretch in the middle of the night on May 24-25, 2012 resulting in a massive protest by Koramangala residents on May 27, 2012.
