Meet Shourya Avinash Bethany High School topper

City Kemp News

Shourya Avinash, a resident of Koramangala 1st Block and student in the science stream, has achieved the 1st rank (School Topper) at Bethany High School in the 12th Std ISC Board examinations announced last week. With an astounding 98% overall, 100 in mathematics is the highlight in his performance.
Preparation mainly involved studying textbooks prescribed by the school. While many students purchase too many textbooks for additional reference and lose focus consequently, Shourya made sure that he was thorough with the essential material before exploring other textbooks. In his opinion, the key to cracking the examinations lies in the details, and making sure that you have covered every topic mentioned in the syllabus.
His teachers at Bethany greatly assisted, providing comprehensive notes on each topic which enabled quick revision before the exams, as the textbooks tend to be perceived as overwhelmingly large and confusing for students. He is incredibly grateful for all of their support and encouragement.
During his academic preparation, his main hobbies, which include singing and playing the piano, served as respite. He is extremely passionate about South Indian Classical music and is indebted to his teacher, Vidwan N. Ananthapadmanabha Rao, from whom he has been learning Carnatic music vocals for the past 3 years. He has also been training in western classical piano performance under the tutelage of Mr. Edmund Raja Vikraman for 6 years, having performed meritoriously in the Trinity College London music examinations, the latest being the Grade 7 examination. He has been inspired by both of them to excel in the field of music as well, apart from academics.
