Koramangala 3rd Block Residents’ Welfare Association is a recipient of the prestigious ‘My Place of Pride Award’ awarded jointly by Rotary Bangalore Palmville and the Bangalore Political Action Committee (BPAC).
The award seeks to recognize those communities that adopt sustainable practices in various areas including solid waste management, water conservation, power management and other eco friendly parameters.
As many as 102 communities in Bengaluru registered to be considered for the recognition. Out of this, a short list of 30 communities was prepared and visits were made to the 30 communities. Communities shortlisted included Residents Welfare Associations, small, large and medium apartment complexes and villa communities.
Awards were given to the winning communities and Excellence awards were also given away.
Koramangala 3rd Block RWA was the recipient of an Excellence award for following efficient waste management practices. Additional Chief Secretary (Urban Development Department), Mahendra Jain gave away the awards and felicitated the winners.
Mr Jain also promised that the Government would take up the revival of Bellandur and Varthur lakes on a warfooting and assured citizens that significant improvements would be witnessed shortly.
