KSRTC enters Limca book of records for maximum awards

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) till date has received 165 international and national awards for its unique initiatives, and today officially entered the Limca Book of Records.
Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Thursday said, “This is the first time a State transport corporation in the country enters into the Limca Book of Records”.
“KSRTC is the first award-winning state transport corporation in the country, as of June 30, 2016. It received 107 international and national recognitions for unique initiatives and good practices within 91 months from 2008-2016. KSRTC is also the only such undertaking to have won the award of excellence by ministry of urban development, Government of India, a record six times in a row”, is mentioned in the certificate issued by the Limca Book of Records.
Rajender Kumar Kataria, Managing Director, KSRTC said that the KSRTC has become a model for the rest of the country.
KSRTC so far, got 165 National and International awards. From May-2013 to January 2017, in a span of 45 months, KSRTC got 102 National and International awards.
*The KSRTC, first time in its history, has reported a gross profit of Rs.114.95 crores during the year 2015-16.  Out of the said profit, an amount of Rs.64 crores has been earmarked for the Gratuity fund, with a view to utilize the same for the final settlements of the retired employees of the Corporation.  The net profit for the year 2015-16 is Rs.50.95 crores.
*The present loan liabilities, earlier which was Rs.314.73 crores during year 2014-15,  has been reduced to Rs.153.51 crores, by clearing the loan of Rs.161.22 crores.
*The KSRTC, which was earlier purchases fuel from M/s. IOC., for the past 5 decades, has diverted its purchase to M/s. BPCL w.e.f. 1-7-2015.   From this and in addition to this  212 depots of the four Corporations will get Automated Fuel Facilities and new fuel bunks, at free of cost. From all these approximately total amount of Rs.358 crores will be saved to all the four Corporations for three years.  The Fuel Automation facility will be inaugurated shortly.
•    Karnataka is the first state in the Country, which commences the city service operations: at Shimoga, Bhadravathi, Chikkamagalore, Ramanagara, Mysore, Chamrajanagar, Chikkamagalore, Tumkur, Davanagere, Mangalore, Puttur, Udupi, Madikeri, Kolar, KGF, Chitradurga, Mandya, Hubli, Dharwad, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Ranebennur, Gadag, Betegere, Karwar, Kumta, Kalburgi, Bidar, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Hospet, Bellary, Vijayapur, Gangavathi, Sindhnur, Sedam.  At present, 1793 city services are operated in 41 cities.
•    5273 new buses have been put in to operations for the travelling public from all the four Corporations.
•    During the present period 2500 buses will be deployed for the rural areas.  By the end of 2017, 5500 buses will be deployed from all the four Corporations.
•    For the first time in the country, 25 Multi axle buses with 100% Bio-Diesel have been inducted.
•    For the last 3 years, 25454 employees have been appointed from all the four Corporations.
•    3826 employees have been appointed under the Provision of 371J.
•    Swiping machines have been provided at the 110 Counters of KSRTC.
•    FREE Wi-fi facilities will be provided in all  Buses and Bus Stations of the KSRTC/NWKRTC/ NEKRTC.
KSRTC:156 Bus Stations, 8317 buses
NWKRTC:166 Bus Stations, 4785 buses
NEKRTC:136 Bus Stations, 4346 buses
Free wi-fi facilities has already been provided at 24 important bus stations of KSRTC. The said facility has been availed by the 35 lakh passengers.
•    CCTV  facilities have been installed at  depot/Divisional workshops of the KSRTC and also at 90 bus stations at a cost of Rs.14.95 crores to ensure the safety of passengers and properties of KSRTC, and also the safety of lady passengers.
•    E-toll facility is being introduced under the Digital KSRTC.  KSRTC is paying toll fees of Rs. 5 to 6 crores, approximately, every month.  By the introduction of new ‘e-toll’ system, KSRTC may get concession from10% to 20%.  From this, we may reduce the   Travelling time and change problem.
AWARDS
KSRTC received the Govt.of India’s highest honour of Information Technology Award National e-Governance 2016-17 Gold Award
Since the inception of this Award for the till date KSRTC is the first state  who, won National e-Governance Gold Award (except during the year 2009-10 KSRTC has won Silver National e-Governance award).
Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DAR & PG), Govt. of India instituted National e-Governance award to recognize and promote excellence in implementation of e-Governance initiatives. DAR & PG presents National e-Governance Awards every year during National Conference on e- Governance under 12 different categories. During the year, Gold Award has been given under 9 categories.
Infrastructure Development:
During the current year, theconstruction of a new bus depot at Hosadurga has been completed and commissioned. Construction Bus Depot at Periyapatna, Sulya, Madhugiri and Belur are under progress and will be completed at the end of 2017.
The construction of 6 new bus stations at Bilikere, kattemaralwadi, Kalasapura, Challakere, BC Road and Mudigere are completed and commissioned and at Huliyurdurga the works are completed and started functioning.
•    An amount of Rs.30.84 crores was transferred from the pool account of Social Welfare Department to the Corporation to construction of training centers at Maluru, Chikkamagaluru and Malavalli and technical skill development centers at Srinivasapura, Chickkamagaluru and Malavalli. The training centers at Chikkamagaluru and Malavalli are inaugurated and commissioned. Tender has been called for the Driver training centre at Holalkere.
JnNURM Scheme-2/Amrut
•    Ministry of Urban Development, GoI had sanctioned 487 city buses to KSRTC under JnNURM scheme. Out of these 487 city buses, purchase order was released for 354 city buses.  133 buses will be deployed within one month.
Plan for the Year 2017-18:
11     New Bus Stations: The construction work of Bus stand at Nanjanagudu, Kanakapura, Chunchnakatte, Koppa, Hassan, Chikkaballapur, Arehalli, Hosadurga, Hanur, Keralapur and Chandrashekarapura  are under progress.
It is planned to operate city Buses in Puttur and Madikeri under State Government’s DULT project.
The Corporation has planned to operate Fly Buses to Tirupati, Koymattur and Salum from Kempegowda International Air port. It is planned to recruit 83 class-3 Supervisory posts and 1116 non supervisory posts.
The completion of construction work of 3 new bus depots at Piriyapatna, Sulya and Belur are taken and upgrading existing depots.
The construction work of 15 new Bus stands will be completed and up-graded at Nanjanagudu, Kanakapura, Hassan (TTMC), Hanur, Koppa, Alur Siddapur, Chikkaballapur, Arehalli, Chunchanakatte,, Kodihalli, Besagarahalli, Suttur, Hirisave and KM Doddi.
Under JNnurm(UIDSSMT) project the construction of bus depot at Kolar, KGF, Udupi, Shimoga are to be completed.
Under DULT the construction of new Bus Stations at Harihara, Kollegala, Udupi, Doddaballapura and Kolar are to be completed.
It is planned to construction of staff Quarters at Madikeri, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Sakaleshpura, Chitradurga,Tiptur, Suttur, Sulya, Dharmastal, Mudigere, Chikkaballapura and Shantinagar (Bangalore).
