Rotary Koramangala conducts health camp

Mega Health Camp by Rotary Club Koramangala at Kanakapura benefitting the underserved
As part of Rotarys Community service Rotary Club Koramangala in association with Laguna Clothing Co conducted a mega health camp at Saathanur, Kanakapura on 13th November 2016.  Participating medical institutions were Shankar Eye Hospital for eye ailments, Bangalore Institute of Dental for dental health, General Medicine, cardiac and gynaecology check up by Medall.
Laguna Clothing ensured the health camps information was available to the rural folks in and around Kanakapura well in advance. More than 750 plus people participated in the free health check up.  The day-long event identified 35 patients for a free cataract surgery and two kidswere  identified with heart abnormalities. These patients would be treated free in one of the Institution associated with the Rotary Club.
For the heart surgery support would be taken from Needy Heart foundation who has been taking up such cases for the poor, the necessary funds would be garnered from members of the Rotary Club. Rotary Club Bangalore has been doing yeoman service in the fields of Avoidable Blindness and is setting up for four vision centres at Jigani, Kanakapura, Maddur and Siddalaghatta and plans to reach out to more than 25,000 rural people for their eye related problems. The health camps are a boon for rural folks who still do not have access to good medical facilities and suffer without treatment. Rotary Club Koramangala plans to hold several such camps in future to reach out to more underserved of our society.
