Koramangala 8th Block Welfare Association; Fancy Dress Attire Steals the Show

The Koramangala 8th Block Welfare Association celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava and Children’s Day in a grand manner on November 14 at Chamundeshwari Park in 8th Block. To mark the occasion, Environmentalist and Social activist Sowmya Reddy inaugurated the children’s play equipments at the Park. Along with her, Corporators M Chandrappa from Koramangala Ward and Manjula Sampathkumar from Adugodi Ward, and nominated Councillor Ashok Reddy too opened the play equipments.
Addressing the gathering, Sowmya Reddy urged to not to use plastics in day-to-day activities. It is wonderful to see so many children taking part and thanked the Association to continue in simlar activities in the future also, she said.
In the meantime fancy dress competition was going on in which children from various schools around 8th Block took part.
Nearly 70 children exhibited theri talent besides their costumes on that day.
Fancy Dress competition for children in two age groups- Upto 6 years; and above 6 years to 12 years. In each category 6 attractive prizes were given in the end by the Corporator.
In total over 150 children and equal number of residents attended the programme. Later Corporator Manjula Sampathkumar hoisted the Kannada Flag on that day.
For the first time such a programme was conducted by the 8th Block Welfare Association.
Association President Ratnamma, Secretary Keshav Murthy, former President L Nagaraj, Yoga Guru Rao, Gurudas, Dwarakanath, Manjunath Reddy, Babu Reddy, Ratnam, office bearers, residents and others were present.
Akshaya Spandana Programme:
As part of the programme, every Sunday meals was sponsored by ex-President of Koramangala 8th Block Welfare Association L Nagaraj to the members of Asha Niketan FMR India. This benefits over 40 persons and it costs about Rs 75,000 annually.
For the past few years, Nagaraj has been sponsoring it.
Government School Rajendranagar:

Under the leadership of L Nagaraj, nearly 150 executive chairs were donated to Rajendranagar Govt School, Koramangala Village Govt School, MAS school, Govt Tamil School, Govt Urdu School, MARP Govt School, Lawrence School, Padmavathi School, six Anganwadis in Adugodi, Parikrma School, Asha Niketan etc
