img-20161105-wa0058Minister for Bangalore City Development KJ George accompanied by Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy visited the Mestripalya lake area on Thursday 3rd November to inspect the area. Office bearers of various RWAs in Koramangala and residents were present to welcome the Ministers.
Mr George assured the residents that Government is supportive of the Mestripalya lake restoration project and assured them that the requisite funding for the project is already committed. RWA representatives present expressed their support for the lake restoration initiative and requested the Ministers to expedite the work.
It may be recalled that work has commenced on the Mestripalya lake for which the Government has allotted Rs 7 crore funding under the Nagarothana scheme. The funds will be used for lake activity completion, construction of a 3.2 acre tree park adjoining the lake and to build a network of culverts to convey rainwater into the lake.
RWA representatives present also enquired from Mr George on the status of the long delayed Ejipura to Kendriya Sadan elevated road. Mr George assured the residents that the project would be commenced shortly. This project is of vital importance to Koramangala residents as it will ease the traffic congestion along the 100 ft road axis that brings huge traffic volume from the Old Madras Road and Old Airport road areas towards Hosur Road.
