Ejipura New Extension Residents’ Association (ENERA) arranged a public grievances meeting last Saturday at Ashanilaya Ground, Srirama Temple Road in Ejipura.
T Ramachandra, Ejjpura Ward Corporator chaired the meeting while ENERA President Ravindra Kumar monitored. Srinivasa Reddy, Executive Engineer, BBMP; Chennaveeraiah, Assistant Executive Engineer, BBMP; Chandrashekar, Junior Engineer, Raghavendra and Jayaprakash, Asst. Executive Engineers, BWSSB were present and heard the grievances of local residents.
Irregular distribution of Cauvery water was the main concern of many residents. Even after laying new 12″diametre pipeline at SRT Main Road, residents residing at the dead end of the cross roads are still not getting Cauvery water, complained Shankarappa and Stanley Lazarus. Illegal drawing of water by installing motors by many residents are main reason of depriving Cauvery water to their neighbours, complained both of them. “Valveman is a main culprit and not discharging his duties properly. There is no proper control on him by the superiors,” complained P N Gopal. “Wet Well is not functioning properly. Therefore sewage back flows every alternative days,” he added. Upon hearing the complaints, Raghavendra, AEE, assured the residents to attend the complaints and sort out problems within fifteen days time frame. Civic grievances mainly related to slow progress in restoring SRT road and pothole filling across all cross roads. Ravindra Kumar,President, insisted to improve garbage collection system, providing CCTV cameras at the earliest,and earmark a place at Ejipura Bus Stand for putting up a shelter for the use of BMTC Traffic Controller. Srinivas Reddy, Executive Engineer assured to redress all the grievances at the earliest. “My office is always open for the redressal of public grievances. I am working overnight with a view to get clearance for all civic works”, he added.
Ramachandra, Corpoatror assured to pursue all the issues. He also declared that henceforth he will arrange monthly grievances meeting at Ward Office for the advantage of people in the Ejipura Ward. P N Gopal, General Secretary delivered the vote of thanks.
