A group of Koramangala residents met Defence Minister Manohar Parikkar during his visit to Bangalore on Thursday, 07th July.
This was a follow up to the efforts of a small group of Koramangalites who have met him several times in Delhi in the recent past.
Elected representatives from Bengaluru, Commissioner BBMP, UDD ACS Mahendra Jain and Army officials were present. The meeting was held at the HAL head office on Cubbon Road.
The defence land requirement for about a dozen projects ( including the Agara to Ejipura link road) and the land swap deal was thrashed out and agreed to in-principle by State Government representatives and Defence authorities present.
The proposal now goes to the State Cabinet to formally approve land swap. BBMP/ BDA will prepare a Detailed Project Report for the projects including land required and share a copy to Area Sub Commander for onward transmission to the Defence Ministry, Delhi.
Mr Parikkar has assured citizens that there will be no delay from the Central Government end.
Citizens will need to monitor progress to ensure that plan for the road is accurate and that overall proposal goes out as quickly as possible.
The road will cut commute times between Agara and Ejipura by almost half an hour.
