Ananda Yana or ‘Journey of Joy’ is a ‘race’ with a difference

yananCity Kemp News

To us, running is a journey. A journey that takes one towards being a better human being, and one that is filled with the joy of self realization.
This year we are back again for the fourth edition of the event!  As always, we as a community come together to have a great time in creating ‘Ananda’ (Happiness) in this ‘Yana’ (Journey).
The aim of this event is to bring people together, with an emphasis on cooperation and the spirit of community.
Why Ananda Yana
*   To help raise funds to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds
* To create an event that is affordable to all based purely on cooperation and a spirit of giving
*  To encourage more people to take up running
When: June 5 at 6 am
Where: Snehadaan, Sarjapur Road, Bengaluru
Race Categories:
Thayi Mane Ota ~ 4k
Sneha Ota ~ 10K
Routes named after schools supported by Runners High.  The routes are designed in such a way that the runners get to experience the support from the various schools and run through a scenic route.

“This is an event where there is no timing chip, no winners or losers. You run for fun, you run for a cause. We strongly encourage you to run with your family members and friends.  We welcome you to experience the love and affection of the community”, say the organisers of the event.
All funds raised go to organizations supported by Runners High (Ananya Trust,  Sneha Care Home, Thayi Mane, Shristi Special Academy & Thulir).  You can read more about the initiative on Internet at http://web.runnershigh.in/schools/
“The event is managed completely by volunteers – managing aid stations, parking, route logistics, cheering stations and photography.  Being conscious of the fragile environment we live in, we encourage carpooling among participants and make no use of plastic. We do not accept sponsorships of any kind for the event.
However, donations in the name of the schools we support are accepted and acknowledged. Come join us in our effort to put bright smiles on the faces of the children”, say the organisers.
