Regular users of the Koramangala 3rd Block BBMP Playground are hoping that the BDA will allot an alternative site to the Ananda Social and Educational Trust so that the playground can be saved.
Various mainstream media reports indicate that the Ananda Trust had expressed its willingness to consider allotment of an alternative land parcel equivalent in area to its present location. However, there is no independent confirmation on this.
Meantime, residents and playground users are preparing a representation to the BDA Commissioner in this regard.
It may be recalled that on 24th December 2015, football and cricket players enjoying a game on the ground got a rude shock with JCB equipment entering the ground and commencing excavation.
The playground is the largest such public play area in the area and many users come all the way from Indira Nagar, BTM Layout, Madiwala, HSR Layout and Jayanagar to play there.
