city kemp IMG-20150319-WA0015 city kemp NAYA city kempA group of more than 100 youths under the banner of NAYA (Namma Assembly Youths Association) gathered near the Koramangala Forum Mall on Hosur Road on Thursday evening demanding the State Government to handover the probe into the suspicious death of IAS officer DK Ravi to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The youth community did hold a candlelight vigil on Thursday.
NAYA was launched just on Sunday and this vibrant group swung into action with its maiden candlelight vigil.
The 35-year-old IAS officer, who had taken on the sand mafia known in Kolar district of Karnataka was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his room at his official flat – St John’s Wood in Koramangala on the evening of March 16.  He was working as an additional commissioner of enforcement in the commercial taxes department. The Congress government in Karnataka has so far stated that he committed suicide due to personal reasons.
But the opposition wants a CBI probe since Ravi had taken tough action against land, sand and real estate mafia during his tenures as deputy commissioner in Kolar.
