Representatives from various Residents’ Welfare Associations in Koramangala met Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy at his home office on Saturday following media reports that the police are going to encourage New Year celebrations in Indiranagar and Koramangala areas as to avoid over-crowding on Brigade Road and MG Road areas. During the meeting, Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy confirmed that there are no such plans or ideas and only the residents are on false impression. The Minister called upon the Additional Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar who also confirmed that there are no such plans.
Besides the Minister directed to step up vigilance and monitor through CCTV cameras at all sensitive places in the locality; Drones to be used to monitor the crowd. He called upon the residents not to heed rumours. Also, there would be increased patrolling by police in the by lanes to ensure there are no law and order issues.
