Kannada Rajyotsava & Felicitation to Pournakarmikas by 4th Block RWA

The RWA 4th Block has celebrated the 62nd Rajyotsava day on 1-11-2017. After invocation by Smt. Jayamma, committee member, G M Shetty, President of the Association has welcomed the gathering and spoken about the history of Rajyotsava day. He also mentioned about reorganization of states on 1-11-1956 and how the Mysore state came into existence and subsequently
on 1-11-1973, it was renamed as Karnataka state during the period of ex-CM late Sri. Devraj Urs. Sri. Shetty also said that Rajyotsava day is celebrated abroad by the Kannadigas. Sri. Shankar Rao, committee member, spoke about the importance of Kannada and its learning by non-Kannadigas.
Shetty addressed the Pourakarmikas, BWSSB valve men, BESCOM linemen, and said that they were the grass root level workers whose services are normally not recognized and the 4th Block RWA having recognized their dedication to their duties, has felicitated them on this auspicious Rajyotsava day. He also requested them to carry out their day to day duties sincerely and honestly. RWA has felicitated about 125 workers on this occasion.
The area MLA and Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy could not attend the function due to his preoccupation at Chikkaballapur.
M Chandrappa, Corporator, has hoisted the Rajyotsava flag in the presence of RWA committee members, residents and a large gathering, followed by singing of ‘Nada Geethe.
The function was concluded with a vote of thanks and by serving breakfast to all.
