First Block Swachhotsav ends on a high note

On 2nd Oct on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, residents of 1st block Koramangala decided to clean the streets, drains and also speak to residents about segregation under the aegis of Koramangala First Block Residents’ Welfare Association.
At 9.30 am as many as 25 persons including children set out street by street cleaning and segregating waste. Children put their little hands into leaf composters and took out small plastic covers carelessly thrown-in by passersby.
After the clean up session, they all met at the residence of Mrs Sumitra Gandhi. She is the grand daughter of Mahatma Gandhi and a very high achiever in her own capacity. She addressed all the Pourakarmikas of 1st block and expressed her gratitude to them and felt that without them any place would be impossible to live in and all people would be unhealthy.
Mrs Sowmya Reddy, Environmentalist was also present and thanked all the Pourakarmikas for their hard work and asked them to approach her if they have any problem. The day concluded the Swachhotsav by felicitating the Pourakarmikas with sweets and gifts.
