Over the past 2 months, BBMP & BWSSB have undertaken the task of replacing the 6 inch sewage pipeline which were laid at the time of layout formation in 1970s with 9 inch pipe due to increased load because of more dwelling units and multistoryed apartment complexes in entire Koramangala 8th block.
Considerable difficulties have been experienced by the residents due to multiple agencies involved like BBMP, BWSSB, Contractors, sub contractors, BESCOM for cable crossing/cutting while excavating, storm water drain work being carried out simultaneously, tarring work after surface preparation on completion of pipe laying etc. Since the work was started simultaneously in many roads by digging everywhere and with frequent rains there was slush and mud making life of residents hell particularly the senior citizens and the roads were virtually not navigable. Frustrated residents took to whatsapp group of KEBSSS to vent out their feelings. Thats when B.D Nagaraj & Harish Babu founder members of Koramangala Eighth Block Samaja Seva Sangha (KEBSSS) pitched in and took upon themselves to coordinate with all the agencies working and started tackling issues after priortising them based on the inputs from residents.The corporator of ward 147 was also brought in to expedite work.
Now the work is progressing satisfactorily. The residents of 8th block thank & express their gratitude to KEBSSS particularly to the founders B.D.Nagaraj & Harish Babu who worked hard to expedite the work and smoothenthe workflow.
